We always aim to save the natural tooth

Having a tooth removed can be a daunting experience however when undertaken with care, this can be a stress-free procedure. We always use topical anaesthestic gel before administering the local anaesthestic (LA). The gel or cream numbs up the surface of the gum such that when the LA is given, it is much more comfortable and virtually painless.

Saving a natural tooth, if possible is always our aim however if the tooth has a poor long-term prognosis because of a crack or infection then extraction and replacement may be advised. The space may be left or we can arrange to have the missing tooth replaced with a removable partial denture, a bridge or a dental implant.
